Batman AO
Just received this game for free... It's a mess and not optimized at all. Even with low settings and no anti-aliasing, it still drops below 60fps on my system, which is far beyond the recommended standards. I wouldn't suggest this game, even if you get it for free. I installed it today and plan to remove it tomorrow.
Upon another review, my hardware matches the suggested requirements of a 3.4Ghz Quad core Phenom II x4 CPU, while I own a 3.7Ghz Phenom II x4 and the suggested GPU is a Radeon HD 6950. The HD 7850 OCed seems adequate, but I believe the guidelines only apply when you're comfortable with performance drops under 60fps on all low settings. That’s not true.
I used medium 60fps with minimal stutter on an FX 6100 and 6950.
The HD 7870 delivers similar results compared to an OCed 7850, but the 47 average remains quite low given the age of the game engine.
It's running DX11 with Max settings at 8xMSAA. Synced 60 seems achievable on more modest graphics cards. I've noticed that most of the Batman games I've played struggle with those DX11 and phsyx settings. At least my i5-760 and SLI GTX460 handled it, but not my 4670K with GTX670.
Oh no, the PhysX settings for that game. I recall stepping into a rug made of PhysX material, and then my frame rate just stopped working.
The issue arises because the game is running on an NVIDIA platform where frame rate drops from 60 to 59fps when the frame rate falls below 60, which is unusual since NVIDIA hasn't encountered triple buffering before. Additionally, using 1GB of VRAM often leads to stuttering in most games due to memory constraints.
