I've checked every step of the no-post process. It seems the hardware might be broken or the BIOS settings aren't aligned.

No, there is nothing to disagree on. The 1600AF is literally, physically a zen+ CPU and needs BIOS-support accordingly. The reason it was created is that AMD ran out of the old wafers and instead of ordering more, they just simply moved on to using wafers they still have.

I recall hearing that in several reports, it seemed unnecessary for a bios update, though perhaps I didn’t grasp the details fully.

I aim to expand my projects further and could consider buying a used Athlon chip to refresh the board BIOS. PCPartpicker shows Zen microarchitecture options, including the 3000G which seems unusual. Are there any models I should avoid because they aren’t natively B350 compatible that you’re aware of?
