Audio still only comes from one ear despite numerous troubleshooting steps and reinstalling Windows
So just about two days ago my computer suddenly stopped letting audio come out of the left ear. I've spent several hours trying various solutions and even reinstalled Windows, but nothing has changed. The problem persists, and I've tested different headphones and headsets as well, so it’s not just a software issue. I’m wondering if there might be a hardware problem that requires replacing an audio card.
I don’t anticipate any changes and would be very unlikely if you haven’t been inside the machine altering anything. Could removing the front panel connector for audio help improve rear channel performance on both channels? Have you looked in the different sound consoles within Windows to see if anything is enabled or not?
I just attempted that and it didn’t make a difference. I’ve followed all the instructions from around 20 YouTube tutorials, changing settings in the control panels but still not seeing any improvement.
I understand you asked about the type of 3.5mm plug used on the PC and devices. It seems you're inquiring about the specific connector configuration for audio and microphone purposes.
The microphone connects through USB, featuring a three-part connector, while both the front and rear jacks also have three divisions.
Yes, you meant the stereo models that need a second jack for the microphone connection.
