I reviewed my email today and noticed a message from Steam containing an access code. Steam indicated that a Russian IP address was attempting to log into my account. That's suspicious! I've updated my password and performed an antivirus scan just to be safe. Anyone else experiencing this situation?

No, my Steam account has never been tried before—it was accessed without my permission.

Occasionally it occurs, all you need to do is update your password, but since you've already done that, just continue.

Try using the mobile authenticator on your device—it alerts you almost instantly when someone attempts to log in.

I’d prefer if I could rely on apps. My old Blackberry isn’t getting any support anymore.

A brief password might have been easily deduced, which is why mine spans 25 characters.

It's really useful—it shows email codes and updates every roughly 15 seconds, sending a notification whenever someone tries to access it

Great! The password I selected was alphanumeric, though it wasn't very secure at first. I updated it to something stronger now...

Absolutely, here it is in random form:

Caps lock it up. Just throw in some jumbled letters, digits, and mix cases. No one should figure it out, even you won’t remember it. Just scribble it somewhere and stash the note away.
