If you reduce the detail a little, you should be able to achieve a solid frame rate at 1920x1080.

The GTX 970 struggles with ultra settings? That's surprising!

I anticipate a GTX 970 delivering solid performance even at 1280x1024 resolution. To protect your purchase value, consider upgrading to a higher-quality display that forces the graphics card to work harder.

In theory, you could push the limits of that setup with those specifications. In reality, no one here understands it. Consult the developers. It seems someone with a high-end rig that's been overclocked for gaming would likely have both the hardware and the expertise to know what works.

It wouldn't make sense for the same group to handle this game after their previous work on Max Payne 3. From what I understand, it should have been a smooth release, but they kept pushing it back several times.

It seems you were surprised to see a score above 60 even with maximum settings at that resolution.

I’m very confident an i5 and 970 can handle 1080p at full performance, even with upgrades. The 970 breaks down any game running at maximum settings in 1080p at 60fps, so it shouldn’t differ much from GTA V, especially given Rockstar’s investment. If it doesn’t reach its potential, I might be left feeling disappointed.

It seems highly improbable, as the project has been postponed for more than a year and the game is already finished. What activities were planned during that time?

Based on the minimum specs and suggested gear, it should perform well. It won’t be as smooth as Watch_Dogs, but Rockstar hasn’t repeated the GTAIV optimization issues. I own a 4770k+780 and would be surprised if we couldn’t run full ultra with solid frames.
