I recently acquired a 3070 and noticed some performance issues across different games. In CS:GO, I experience around 200-300fps with dust 2 on low settings, but drop to about 90fps at high settings with full GPU usage and 20-30% CPU load. For Fortnite solos (low settings, performance mode), I see roughly 160 in the air, 120 while landing, and 240 mostly on the ground. Occasionally it fluctuates between 160-180 and runs normally. My GPU usage stays around 60% while CPU usage is about 30%. Temperatures remain within acceptable ranges. Your hardware specs are: Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, ASUS TUF GAMING RTX 3070 8GB OC EDITION, and an NVME drive for most games with a 850W PSU.

download 3d mark from steam (free trial) and execute FIRESTRIKE test. share the outcomes here for performance analysis. this helps verify real-world speed.

You're within a reasonable distance from both Toronto and the Kitchener/London region. I can connect you with an ASUS TUF 3090 at a favorable price—just a quick note, it seems you might have been offered something less than ideal.

I’m unable to save it because it needs the base game from Steam, and there doesn’t appear to be a free trial available.

They probably took out Firestrike, but it’s likely still present. If not, you might want to try Run Timespy or run some benchmarks. Still, they’re probably hiding somewhere in the Steam store.

I've checked the usual methods, but it leads back to the original 3D Mark version which costs money.

It seems your setup isn’t showing major issues, but there’s room for improvement. Mostly it behaves similarly to other systems with comparable specs, just slightly underperforming. It’s hard to pinpoint the exact problem since everything runs smoothly—though the graph might exaggerate the performance drop. The temperatures are already quite high, so what looks like a bad setup could actually be fine.

You mentioned your cooling system? How many background processes or programs are active, such as browsers or media players? Also, congratulations on completing Firestrike—it’s a tough benchmark and indicates your system is handling stress well.
