ASUS Strix B450-I model 5950X experiences throttling issues.
After several attempts to diagnose the problem, I'm seeking guidance. Recently switching from a 3900XT to a 5950x on my NZXT H1 Streaming/Server PC, I'm facing thermal challenges. The 5950X was throttling significantly, leading to various complications. Over the past week, I've experimented with several solutions: removed all panels, swapped the Noctua NH-L12S CPU cooler for an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 240 (now outside with back panel off), added extra Noctua NF-A12x25 and NF-A4x20 fans to improve airflow, and limited my PPT to 150W. This reduced the CPU temps to under 82°C, lowering boosts from 4.7GHz to around 4.3GHz. However, throttling still occurs after short runs, even though it's not summer yet. The EDC remains stuck at about 60% of my 160A limit until it starts throttling, then jumps back up to 100%. Is this typical behavior for the ASUS Strix B450-I board, or should I try further adjustments?
Checked the presentation; it appears the default is around 140-150 slides.
I adjusted it based on some tutorials, but noticed it hit maximum temperatures or spiked too high, so I reset it to standard values. TDC and EDC were initially at 140 and 160 after reviewing many forums, yet they rarely exceeded 60-70% of those numbers except during throttling when EDC reached its limit.
