Asus Prime B660-Plus D4 experiences XMP/Memory failure issues.
I have a comparable setup to yours and encountered the same issue with XMP. By chance, I just watched a JayzTwoCents video about DDR5 memory and 12th gen challenges. That inspired me to try manually adjusting the memory speed to 3600Mhz. Unfortunately, that didn’t succeed! But when I set it to 3200Mhz it functioned adequately. It’s not as fast as 3600Mhz but improved upon the 2133Mhz setting.
I also performed a BIOS upgrade, but first I restored the factory settings. Then I applied the new version. I activated the XMP profile and my Crucial BL2K8G36C16U4WL RAM now operates at the factory clock speed of 3600MHz. I ran a test using TestMem5 v0.12 and found no issues. Everything is functioning properly, and the updated BIOS has enhanced RAM performance during playback.
I'm sorry for the delay in responding. I only had a chance to test this after receiving the 'rona this Friday' update. I noticed there were two new BIOS versions I hadn't tried, so I started with them but they didn't work. Changing the slots actually resolved the issue. Please let me know if there are any issues with using the RAM in those slots. I should also review what JerryM mentioned about resetting settings before updating.
Thanks Gamer Guy, the issue was using slots 1 and 3 with XMP enabled, which caused a black screen. Switching to slots 2 and 4 resolved it on my PRIME B660M-A D4. For the RAM, it's TeamGROUP T-FORCE ZEUS 8 with DDR4/3200MHz.
I never imagined I’d fall for someone online without realizing it, but wow, I’m really into you. Switching places felt perfect, smooth at 3600hz, cool!
