I recently got this B660 board to match my new i5-12400, and I paired it with a standard 2X8GB DDR4-3200 memory kit. Enabling XMP in bios causes instability and booting loops - even when I'm able to get to windows in safe mode with XMP enabled, the RAM still reads as 2133, and there are instability issues. Disabling XMP seems to fix all these issues. At first I thought this might just be a faulty board, but it appears this is a common issue with this particular asus prime lineup of LGA 1700 socket boards. It also appears that various memory kits listed as compatible on the ASUS website (mine included) cause the same issue. This is quite the fail considering the boards are advertised as being able to support up to DDR4 5000. So far no bios updates or confirmation from ASUS as to what's going on here. Has anybody else here also experienced this problem, or have any idea as to what could be going on here?

Check your RAM's clock speeds using Aida64, CPU-Z or similar software, note them on paper, then adjust them in your BIOS. If problems persist, retain those speeds but reduce the clock to 3000 MHz or 2933 MHz—it will still be preferable to 2133/2400 MHz.

Based on my own encounters, ASUS has some extremely poor customer service. Right now I think Kingston or EVGA would be better choices for motherboards...

Did that project get approved? The response is "accepted," though there’s no reply from @Lord_Montague. I’m not comfortable with the forum culture and unsure how to proceed. Right now I’m mapping out a build, and all 12th-gen mobos from Asus fit the budget—except for miniATX models, limited RAM slots, or high prices. This could affect the whole setup. It looks like there’s an XMP compatibility problem with these boards, not just the RAM issues mentioned in the Reddit thread (though those posts seem to be the main ones). Plus, these items are only available on Newegg, reminding me of the recent showdown between Newegg and TechJesus.

Starting from today I created this account. The configuration I had yesterday was set up the previous day: TUF Gaming B660M-PLUS with Wi-Fi D4 i5 12600KF, two 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM modules at 3600Mhz. The system shows ASUS support for the RAM, but I can't boot when XMP is enabled. I'm using the default 2133Mhz for compatibility. The BIOS version is 1009, no updates made. There seems to be no way to reach ASUS support about this issue—maybe it's intentional?

Hello everyone, I'm facing the same issue. I adjusted the RAM frequency from 3600 MHz to 3500 MHz and it resolved the problem. We still need to wait for a BIOS update.

I saw this on Reddit suggesting that swapping RAM modules between different slots might be okay for some users. Please verify and let me know.

Thank you for the update, Gamer Guy. Using slots 2 and 4 resolved the issue.
