This board is a solid choice for AMD sockets. It doesn't have any significant drawbacks beyond its socket type.
Consider the ASRock B450 Pro4 or upgrade to the Asus X570 Prime P. The Prime B450 is too expensive for your needs.
It's quite affordable... (Is the ASRock board with Ryzen 3000 included in the box?)
I own this motherboard—it’s not a solid one. It feels like a bottom-of-the-barrel piece. There aren’t many options to upgrade its performance, and memory expansion is really limited. The VRM package is small, so it’ll likely cap around 65 watts or less. Overall, it’s exactly what was described—affordable on every level. Will it function with lower power chips? Yes. Just turn it on and use it as intended.
For a 3600 or 3300X, I recommend sticking to a lower tier unless you have specific goals. Higher tiers can be riskier and may not align with your needs.
Most motherboards should already include a Ryzen 3rd generation compatible BIOS, since it's been a year or more since that model was released. This board tends to be affordable because it doesn't have many features—like no heatsink on the VRM—which can limit performance if you later upgrade to a higher-core CPU. The VRM (voltage regulator module) won’t handle increased power efficiently, potentially causing overheating. Consider checking out MSI boards or other online stores for hardware purchases.
I'm not confident the E tier B450 fits a 3300X as it came out of the box.
