I didn’t see the cost gap that much. Sure, the Gigabyte version seems more reasonable for the price.

On the Gigabyte B450M DS3H, the BIOS that enables support for third-generation Ryzen was released on May 16, 2019. That means it's quite possible you wouldn't find such a board today.
