Asus H87M-Pro board attempts to manage voltage for a PWM fan
I'm curious about this. Can you provide images of the CPU fan headers? It seems the header has a nub indicating a 3 or 4 pin fan, while the chassis headers lack that feature. Upon inspecting the tan header, a black component is visible—likely confirming a 4 pin connection. Without power on the 12V and ground, it’s possible the chassis headers won’t function correctly. Do you have any standard 4 pin fans compatible with chassis headers? How do they respond when controlled?
You might need to bypass the Arduino and manage fan control directly through the CPU fan header. Board diagrams and schematics are usually available only on forums or platforms where I’m not confident about running a VM on my work machine.
I believe I'll continue using the Arduino because it allows speed control with a potentiometer, and we can upgrade the board later. Appreciate your help!
