ASUS B450-F model with Ryzen 3600 processor
I have an Asus Strix B450-F motherboard with a Ryzen 3600 processor. The system experiences random lockups and occasional restarts, especially when using QEMU/KVM or Prime95 tests. It works well during gaming in Arch Linux. Setting the CPU to 1.32v @ 4.1 with extreme load line appears to resolve the issues and reduces restarts. Power supply is an Antec HCP-1200 1200W, which functions properly with Crosshair VI Hero. Memory includes Corsair Vengence RGB Pro 2x16GB (passed memtest). I’m wondering if this setup is hitting the board’s limits or if others face similar problems.
Checking performance at 1.32 volts for a 4.1GHz processor. You're currently using 4.1 and 1.42V.
I didn't think running at 1.42v would be possible. My other setup handles 4.2ghz at 1.32v smoothly too. I could change the CPU between systems to test if it's the hardware issue, but it seems like a hassle. I planned to look this up before swapping parts or getting a new board. Also, I'm not aiming for overclocking; it just feels unstable when everything is set to Auto Defaults, only under specific conditions. The system doesn't panic, but Auto mode causes lockups and restarts, adjusting voltage to keep things at 1.32v with maximum settings, which stops the crashes and reduces restarts.
The mine on auto stock usually stays near 1.4 to 1.45v, which is standard. Consider raising the voltage. They’re secure up to that level.
