It connects the chipset to the CPU and controls the data speed for things like X4 lanes. DMI4 works with the CPU to provide up to four lanes using PCIe Gen 4. The B550 will use DMI4 with the CPU, but it won’t have PCIe 4 support for NVMe ports.
