The question seems unclear about whether AMD should address this issue. The differences in USB 4 support between models like the 8600G, 7600X and 9600X may stem from varying technical requirements or market strategies.

It's an overestimated laptop CPU; you won't find one unless you're on a very tight budget or working with something extremely specialized like a superfast NAS or DAS. The 9800X3D doesn't even support USB 4 natively, which shows just how much depends on your specific needs.

Since the 7000 series debuted in 2022 and the 8000 series in 2024, the devices are more contemporary. The B850M Pro-A lacks USB4 ports; only the most advanced boards like X870(E) and some X670(E) support USB4. It features USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1 ports, with a few USB2 ports for additional connectivity. Placing the 7600X on a USB4 motherboard would result in either USB4 performance or USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds.

Some USB4 motherboards have USB4 controllers that do the work for the CPU.

It's good to know, but the truth is the CPU still can't handle it alone. Honestly, it doesn't need to because USB 3.2 Gen 2 is already faster than most people require for about 99% of users.

The ASUS ROG STRIX B850-E appears to support USB 4 according to its specs. However, at this price point, other options might be worth exploring.

Could you clarify your question? I want to make sure I understand what you're asking about USB4.

I'm not sure if my tone comes across as rude, but I really want to understand why you think USB4 is necessary.

For a long-term use, keeping the latest model could offer the most features. It looks like you’d need to pay twice as much as ASRock B850M Pro-A for USB 4 support.

It's mainly due to the lack of a device capable of handling USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds. If I switched everything to USB 2.0, would your gadgets still slow things down? Since USB 3.0 is likely already present on your system, the real question is how USB4 will perform in five years.
