It's frustrating you can't play anymore after installing it. It seems the game isn't loading any games and crashes when you start. The feedback suggests it's been heavily overpowered and no longer fun. What do you think about this situation?
It feels significantly heavier now. Faster turning helps, but the lower (decreased) acceleration causes more overshooting and lets the afterburner burn through fuel much quicker. From a practical standpoint, a typical boost after a 180° turn consumes roughly 25% of your fuel instead of just 5%. When aiming ahead, it’s tougher to land your shot (press mouse+kb), but when you’re out of sight it becomes easier. Adjusting to this will require some time, though with practice it could improve. The biggest frustrations are the unreliable servers that force a death spin without reason, the connection limits (only one match per client restart), missing damage states in your HUD (Hornet), poor 16-player performance, and that persistent bug. The health boost is promising but needs more digging once servers stabilize. The cooling performance has improved noticeably. The Badgers now handle overheating better without blowing caps away. Chaff works much better for countering CS missiles, though it still takes about four flares per missile and the redesign feels incomplete. Gladiator and Gladius might need to rely more on their weapons, and the early eject/self-destruct penalty is a positive change but still needs refinement. Overall, there are many improvements, but this release has the most issues so far. Fixes could take 2–3 weeks.
I finally managed to get it running, but it's really bad. I believe the hornet has never performed worse during all the time I've played. It's completely unplayable with a joystick. I truly hope they fixed something significant and bring it back for the 1.1.5 update.
Hey, I don't know if the nose gun works on the Merlin fire or if the wing guns are the only ones that function yet.
I've watched demonstrations of both versions. It functions like a high-speed launcher, with noticeable acceleration time.
