Are your USB ports restarting?
Are your USB ports restarting?
Hello!
My issue with my PC after the recent Win11 reinstall is that my USB setup keeps resetting randomly. It's not ideal while playing ETS2. For troubleshooting, I updated my BIOS without any problems. Previously, I had system lag during games because of the old L-Connect 2 software; once closed, the lag disappeared. Back then, I didn't face USB problems, and since then I've only added an onboard SSD. I also have the latest chipset drivers installed. I would like to know how to fix this and find a solution.
Note: I also tried disabling power saving for my USB ports, but it didn't work.
Which version of Windows 11 are you using?
Right-click Start, select Run, type winver and press Enter.
The current version is 24H2.
USB is usually built into Windows; do you have all the updates installed?
There is a USB-related issue with version 24H2 – see the Microsoft support page for details: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/window...446msgdesc
Lian Li, would you need a controller box compatible with all your versions? It seems some users have up to three controllers installed.
Do you think L Connect 3 is suitable for your hardware?
I question whether updating to win 11 would resolve the USB port reset issue. 24H2 is relatively recent and will appear in Windows Update once available. It also has its own set of problems. What occurs when the USB ports reset? What specifications does this PC have? Why were you reinstalling it? It might be a defective USB device that could be interfering with the connection. That's just a possibility.
When the USB ports reset, the PC often becomes inactive while all my USB devices turn off and then back on again. This can occur intermittently, sometimes lasting hours, and it seems unpredictable.
Not sure if this would assist, but here are some tips:
Check if the issue occurs frequently.
Consider performing a clean boot to determine if non-Microsoft programs are interfering.
Follow the instructions carefully and avoid disabling any Microsoft services—Windows should load properly.
If a clean boot resolves the problem, it suggests a startup program is involved.
Try restarting the stopped programs repeatedly to identify the culprit.
Look into the reliability history in Windows search to see if anything unusual appears during this time.
Also, verify whether any new parts were installed before the issue started.
When dealing with startup programs, my concern still centers on L-Connect 3. I plan to separate them later.
In the Windows log, there are errors and warnings. However, I recently performed another USB reset while writing this, and the Windows logger didn't record anything.
The most recent error messages (translated via Google Translate) indicate:
The AMDRyzenMasterDriverV27 service failed to start because the specified file was missing.
I might just reinstall Windows over this situation.
did you check for the newest chipset drivers?

because i believe ryzenmaster is included in those.
are you using L Connect 3 for fans? which models do you have?
most devices on a pc are linked via the pci bus, so if one fails it can affect others too. I had a mouse a few years back that would stop the gpu working. It took a while to figure out.
Yes, the chipset drivers are already installed and now I've added those linked by you.
Yes, I have five Lian-Li fans set up and they're connected to a hub that directly links to a USB port on the motherboard. This hub also has its own firmware, which I updated after installing L Connect 3.
Since it caused me issues before, I'm still concerned about this one.
I'm feeling quite uncertain about what this problem might be related to, as it's not straightforward to identify the cause.
I wonder what it uses the USB for. The controller has three cables: one for PWM to control the fan, one for ARGB for lighting, and one USB presumably for something else. Some people say it's for controlling the top two fans, but that seems unnecessary if it's already connected. I have three TL fans installed just last Tuesday, so everything is fresh. Others report that L Connect 3 devices cause USB devices to restart. What exactly are you using it for? Are you adjusting RGB colors or managing fan speeds? I found it to be somewhat buggy—it keeps asking me to reorder the fans again, even though I have the LCD ones.
