Stop letting me store my private ideas in a drive that only works on my computer. Why can't Notepad tell me to save when I shut down the program as it did before? Also, does Notepad act this way even on Windows 10?
It's still local, but all AWP store apps show a loading screen and telemetry data. The system shell handles this and makes the app window appear right away. However, the heavy software needs time to start up, so there is still a noticeable delay after that, even if you have a fast SSD. That's why many people made special shortcuts for the old-style Windows 32 calculator instead of using the new Windows 10 calculator app. The problem is, even though the classic win32 notepad program is included in Windows 11, Microsoft has tried to trick users into running something else by trying to redirect attempts to launch it...
It saves my notes in the cloud, right? Since that last Windows 11 update, something changed. The note pops up instantly, but then it waits a second before showing the text. It looks like the text is coming down from somewhere.

I don't use OneDrive at all. Actually, I even took it away. That specific file was sitting right on my computer screen. Other files are all either on my computer or in my private cloud box called a NAS.
