Hey there! I'm not very familiar with hardware specs and performance details, so I was hoping someone could assist. From what I understand, I'm just a bit under the recommended range. If anyone can verify or say otherwise, that would be helpful. Also, I'd like to play this game looking as impressive as I can, so if anyone has some solid upgrades—like a second graphics card or something similar—I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Keep it as it is—it's great for gaming and works well with Fallout 4 and Battlefield.

The game should run smoothly with Fallout 4, and your i5 processor won’t cause any issues. You’re all set.

Would another 970 make sense as a good investment?

Consider offering it for sale and purchasing a (used) 980ti.

People often look for second-hand GPUs in various places. I thought they wouldn’t hold value long enough for a market, but there are still opportunities. The 980 model is also worth considering.

various options exist for buying used hardware, such as eBay, Craigslist, and the classifieds section of this forum (available here). To understand the value difference between a 980 Ti and others, you can look up relevant benchmarks.

For playing at 1080p you should be fine. I’d boost your 4690k’s clock speed though. Not because the game requires it, just because you can extract more performance from it. With a 30 buck air cooler, you should reach around 4.3 to 4.5 frames per second. According to Bethesda, this won’t be a huge visual challenge.

People seem to accept a 4690k, but Bethesda insists a 4790k is necessary.
