It might also be related to the Nvidia driver. Newer versions can sometimes cause issues. Consider testing other versions.

Example of driver here. Experiencing issues in stronghold where a previous driver resolved the problem. https://forums.

But many people don't experience stuttering. I watch streamers and they didn't have lag. Perhaps they have an Intel CPU...
Tomorrow or the next day I plan to reset the BIOS settings back to default, which means turning off the overclock from 3.8 GHz and then testing the high performance plan in Windows and the NVIDIA control panel.
I really appreciate your help! Thank you! 😊

I understand the need to test another Geforce driver and verify game settings if available. Sometimes video updates can resolve these issues. Depending on the age of the video, performance variations might occur. From a Windows update to using a specific Geforce driver and adjusting game settings, these changes can affect stability. This is why I tend to avoid direct comparisons unless conditions are stable.

I experienced the same issue in early access, but it seems unrelated to NVIDIA drivers. Stutters appear only after playing for over 15 minutes. When I save at night and join later, only minor micro stutters occur. However, after playing for about 20 minutes the next night, the problem resurfaces. These delays sometimes happen during daylight when I activate a trap, though not always. I suspect it's a CPU bottleneck, possibly linked to the CPU even when usage stays below 35-40%. I plan to upgrade to Intel soon, confident it will resolve the issues. For now, I deleted the game since I don’t have much time to play it anymore.

There has been some advancement, but the same problem persists. My GPU usage fluctuates, causing my frames to stutter or drop. This isn’t a recurring issue with other games. My setup should handle this game without trouble.

I dont know to tell the truth. That cpu shouldn't struggle with that game. Maybe the game is not optimized for ryzens or the game is just badly optimized. I follow a streamer who has better config than me and he played The Forest a lot recently and he had hard stutters too sometimes, not as often as for me, but he had. So maybe its something with the game engine and we should live with it. I hope the Sons of the Forest will have a better optimization.
If you have installed the latest bios on your mobo and you have the latest chipset drivers installed and still get these annoying stutters you could test turning HPET off. There is a lot of post about it that turning that off on ryzen systems can make a big difference. That was the only thing I didn't tried. Because I tried that in the past with other games and I didn't experienced any change in fps or stutters. But who knows how The Forest reacts to it.

Yeah I was thinking it might just be something with the game because no other game gives me this problem. Guess we'll just have to suck it up for now if we want to play. Here's to hoping that the sequel runs a bit better. I'll try HPET and see what happens. Thanks for the quick response brother, much appreciated.
