In one of the WWDC 2020 developer videos, it was mentioned that their silicon chips feature high-end discrete GPUs, while Apple has created a Metal-based developer tool for Windows to build AAA games on Windows platforms. They also stated that Apple claims we can run iOS and iPadOS apps and games on a Macbook.

We lack information on the ARM chip performance.
It’s highly improbable AAA games would run on ARM, regardless of power, making the chance of success negligible.

No recent AAA-game has been adapted for ARM, making such a move extremely unlikely.

However, the developer transition kit on GeekBench outperforms the present IMac Pro, and the Metal Developer Kit SDK, which is accessible on Windows for game development, is officially from Apple.

The likelihood of this occurring is nearly nonexistent.

This is kind of a pointless thread, The chips simply dont exist yet for proper testing. GeekBench doesnt mean much all, most of those benchmarks are pretty much useless for comparing gaming performance. We dont know and we wont know. There isnt a point in asking until they come out with it as its pretty much a wait and see thing. They havent made a chip on this level before, theyve made Phone Cpus, they havent made Desktop ones like this. Its going to be a bit before we see results.

The article claims its performance lags significantly compared to a Ryzen 5 in Geekbench scores. DTK achieved 811 points on the single-core test and 2,781 on the multi-core test, while the R5: Ryzen 5 3600 scored 1,254 and 7,497 respectively. The conclusion remains unchanged.

If you disregard what others say here and just upload videos saying "yes" to explain why they think "no" is wrong, it’s pointless. Why even ask us then? Only because developers might eventually make AAA games work on MacBooks, but that doesn’t guarantee it will happen. Even more importantly, we don’t know for sure. It depends on the game developers. Porting games to Linux has been happening for a while, yet no major AAA titles are available for Macs right now (at least). Macbooks are mainly designed for work, not gaming. Those who want to play games usually prefer Windows PCs because most games are released there. Developers understand this too, so why spend thousands on porting a game to macOS when 95% of players use Windows?
