You don't actually require antivirus software. Just avoid downloading files from unreliable sources and you should be okay. Steer clear of suspicious websites. However, if you must, Malwarebytes performs well.

right now im using bitdefender as a kind of a shield against bad stuff from the internet. but the scanner they have does not work. so in the case that viruses make it through, i use malwarbytes to remove them. and it has worked well so far. but if there is something better i would want it. (im getting good at being safe on internet, so bitdefender has not done much lately

It might be for someone less familiar with technology, though. I should know my parents are always getting caught up in malware issues.

I remain a supporter of Kaspersky since it offers both capabilities simultaneously, at least in terms of overall protection. (By the way, internet security features are essentially the same as the comprehensive package)
