Andromeda's Mass Effect is really exciting—what do you think?
I was until they said there's over 100 planets and 7 to explore. I don't mean to sound like a spoilt prick, it's just that I heard about over 100 planets first and got hyped and then recently found out they're only being 7 you can actually explore. Still I'm pretty sure those planets will be packed and huge, so I'm gonna wait for reviews and see some videos on these planets first.
I'm keen on it and plan to try it if the reviews fit my comfort zone, though some early coverage has raised some worries. While I appreciate the series, I anticipate feeling a bit uncomfortable or even frustrated in a Bioware title. I just hope Andromeda matches the level of awkwardness I've come to expect from the previous games.
I've only seen a few trailers and screenshots, which aren't very revealing. I've been careful to skip any gameplay clips or media that might set expectations. My main interest is the original Mass Effect series, which I really liked. I'm excited about this game because it's coming back to the same universe, but without the usual hype from game promotions. I usually don't pre-order games, so this feels special. I think staying away from detailed previews helps you appreciate the experience more when you actually play it. Hearing others' opinions beforehand can shape your expectations and affect your enjoyment. Personally, I've had some games lose their charm if I come in with too much preconceived ideas. I really hope this game lives up to its promise.
Up until now, the experience has been quite dull with minimal originality. The animations are poor and the open world feels uninspired. However, the combat system stands out positively. Despite knowing that classic BioWare titles have faded away, I still hope for fresh developments.
