These components aren't prone to degradation from normal use, especially when protected within silicon chips. Devices from decades ago still function properly; the main reliability issues usually come from capacitors, solder connections, and the printed circuit board itself.
CPUs rarely stop working overall, and when they do, it's typically at the beginning of their lifespan. Overclocking changes that entirely.
Why not opt for an AMD processor that's cheaper and works more efficiently than Intel?
Last year I had the chance to pick between two laptops: one with an Intel i5 8300h and another with an AMD Ryzen 3550h. I went for the first one because I believed Intel processors were more dependable. Now I'm wishing I had made a different choice.
