AMD Ryzen 5 3600x with peak performance ratings (new build)
I recently upgraded to a new system, transitioning from Ivy Bridge Intel to the Ryzen 3600x. After completing the build, I observed that CPU temperatures remained elevated (40°C idle, 80°C gaming, 92°C synthetic load). The AIO cooler I was using was a Cooler Master CL240L, but I switched to the AMD stock cooler to compare performance. Despite the changes, temperatures stayed high. The motherboard I’m currently using is an ASUS X570 board. I’ve tried several solutions... changed thermal paste, switched coolers, adjusted Windows power plans, and updated the BIOS. Which option feels better: more mounting pressure or a cooler environment?
Have you attempted applying thermal paste again and checking the connections? Also, consider re-seating the CPU.
I recently assembled a system using an R5 3600 on an MSI B450 Tomahawk. I'm running the stock cooler with a Lian Li O11 Dynamic and have three side intake fans. The CPU stays at around 50°C in a room temperature of 27-28°C. During gaming, temperatures reach 70-76°C. Idle speeds sit between 4-4.1GHz with voltages near 1.45V. I'm unsure what's typical—my vents seem to maintain good pressure. I'm still working on configuring the case fans with PWM in the BIOS. This is my first build.
It seems uncertain, though it seems to function in some cases. However, the temperatures appear to be off by 100%.
