AMD Ryzen 3 safe temperature details
Hi. My system is an AMD Ryzen 3 1200, originally bought as a temporary CPU. I overclocked it with the stock cooler to reach 3.7 GHz at 1.3V, but during Prime95 load testing the temperature rose to 85 degrees. The idle temps are around 45-49 degrees. Are these levels acceptable or should I reduce the voltage?
The optimal heat level is quite high for your CPU. Since the Ryzen 3 is a cost-effective processor, it's wise to ensure the temperature during operation doesn't go beyond 80 degrees. Consider reducing the voltage as well. Also, verify the fan speed while making these adjustments.

When I monitor the temperature while playing, it reaches a peak of 76 degrees. That seems acceptable for the stock cooler. In fact, I experienced 85-86 degrees during intensive use with prime95. Under typical conditions it remains under 80 degrees.
When you're operating on stock cooler, that's the main reason. Usually the system will stop or crash before facing a heat-related problem right away. If it's a short-term fix and you're not experiencing issues, you probably don't need to be too concerned.
