If you consider cheap as inexpensive, then yes I agree. If you think of it as a simple trick, then I disagree. Working with this algorithm isn't an easy job to identify edges accurately and let alone improve them realistically.

I understand these techniques aren't always straightforward to put into practice. My goal was to find something already integrated within the API that could be handled with tools like ReShade. That would be significantly more impressive than doing it in hardware without any cost.

I'm not saying I'd rely on such a feature right now, as I haven't fully grasped how ReShade works and I usually opt for a bit of aliasing to improve texture sharpness. It didn't seem like a priority enough for conference time, since developers often have the chance to implement it themselves.

From a developer's point of view, it would be a major advantage as it would reduce their workload. However, from a gamer's standpoint, many might object to it increasing aliasing. I think it would likely be an option in game settings.
