All games ceased functioning unexpectedly.
No problem at all! Everyone began without any experience. We're here to assist you.
Let me check for available software options you can download.
I'm unsure which choices you selected during the installation attempt. It might have been a repair option or a repeat install while retaining existing files. As noted by others, using DDU could erase all traces of previous drivers and current ones. Relying on standard uninstallers may leave remnants in your Windows environment.
Disagree. If there is a hardware issue, a stress test will highlight it. If it's a software issue it should run fine Fiery Fuzzy Donut of Death OH! And I forgot to ask, when your game crashes, what do you see in Event Viewer? Likely under Critical, though could be a slew of them in Error. Try and find the events right around when the game crashes
Hey there, the key is figuring out whether the problem lies with software or hardware. If you're comfortable handling it and most of your data is stored in the Cloud, a fresh Windows install would be wise. If you haven't done so yet, grab a USB drive with at least 4GB and search for a Windows installation tool. Follow the instructions and boot from that drive to begin the setup. When you reach the section about hard drives and partitions, remove any listed partitions on the Windows drive and proceed. After restarting into Windows, let the updates run through until complete, ensure your graphics drivers are current, then try installing some games to test. Windows should be as minimal as possible so you can narrow down the cause unless the driver has a known flaw. If the issue continues, it might point to a hardware fault—like overheating or a faulty card. When you play, watch if the GPU fans spin up; if not, check for blockages or temperature issues. One of my early troubleshooting steps involved a GPU that failed after intense use due to a stuck fan blade causing overheating. If you have another system available, swapping in a working one can be very helpful. Also, confirm your motherboard BIOS is up to date. Good luck!
Wouldn't there be other obvious visual problems if the GPU wasn't working correctly? All the graphics appear fine. Right after reinstalling Windows, I tried BF2042. It ran for about three minutes before lagging heavily until it crashed, but everything seems normal. I’m aware the fans are spinning on the GPU. It’s odd that this occurs with every game. FortNite mentions a “bad” installation somewhere, though I can’t recall what. That warning hasn’t been mentioned before and the game has always worked well. Since it’s my son’s favorite title, he’s spent many hours playing it since the system was set up. Even with this error, I can still join matches and reach the match selection stage. At that point it freezes and claims it can’t connect, suggesting a network issue rather than a GPU problem.
I haven’t refreshed the BIOS and chipset drivers. Only the GPU drivers were updated. Updating the BIOS and chipset will need further planning.
