Alert for Asus X570 users—AGESA 1.0.0.4 is causing serious issues with your system!
The issues I’m facing involve a 1 by 1.0 PCIe sound card from 2014 and an outdated USB 2.0 hub card. My 3D card supports PCIe 3.0, which makes it newer than those older models. I’m curious if there’s been a compatibility problem introduced. I’m trying to list the different cards that cause boot failures and see if we can direct them toward a solution. The built-in HD Audio works well, but the Xonar performs better.
i achieved identical outcomes after upgrading ws pro x570 ace. following the upgrade, i set post in loop, red light on mb, amber briefly, then green, and red again. after about 15 minutes i force shut down and restarted. a screen displayed the bios upgrade (award bios), and ram was forced to 2400 despite having a 2x hyperx 3200. windows booted normally with ram at 2400. i rebooted again to set xmp to 3200, and it now functions correctly. temperatures improved noticeably—70-75°C down to 10°C less—while core MHz stayed steady at 4250mhz. cinebench showed 20- gpu pcie 3.0 10gb pcie 3.0 cards in use.
Facing problems with the 3900x chip on your Asus Crosshair Hero VIII Wi-Fi, performance is very low. The CPU can't exceed 500MHz and starts taking a long time to boot. Memory doesn't function properly above 3200MHz. I really regret not upgrading earlier.
Just a note, Asus released an updated BIOS version called "Patch B," raising the number from 1403 to 1404. In my previous update I experienced a POST failure, but otherwise things have been stable. Could 1404 resolve other problems reported by others? @raulico @MasterDisaster
