Computer operated at full capacity before the update. Since the Zen 2 launch day (7/7/19) it has remained stable. The motherboard is an ASUS ROG STRIX X570-F Gaming. I observed the update was released yesterday and installed it then. After the first restart everything worked properly. Recently, upon turning it on, it occasionally hangs during POST with an orange LED on the board. It restarts itself after a few seconds. If it boots, it usually works again. Even when it does post, I suspect around 30% of the time Windows won’t start. I see the spinning circle, the screen goes dark and nothing happens. This isn’t just a minor issue—it’s been happening repeatedly. I’ve tried resetting CMOS, changing UEFI settings, and adjusting DOCP. No CPU overclocking is enabled, everything remains disabled. This update isn't unusual for BIOS releases, so while it's troublesome and unfortunate here, it's not uncommon overall. The remaining issues are quite concerning. It'll be useful to see if this affects many users or just a few. Ideally, AMD and their customers should be okay with this.
In reality, it's quite different. When watching Jayz2cents, he recently created a video showing him switching between versions repeatedly. Still, it's normal for updates to state that you can't revert changes. This typically applies during major microcode revisions, which this update would fall under.
Same problem here. I can't reach the bios because the VGA LED is white and it keeps re-reporting itself on the PC.
Do you have additional cards in your PCIe ports other than the GPU? I encountered a problem during setup where certain PCIe cards wouldn't boot properly, especially when using the 1.0.0.4 AGESA. It seemed to stall at the VGA stage during the boot process. Since you're using a Gigabyte motherboard, there might be unrelated factors at play. Also, getting everything up and running with the older AGESA wasn't possible because it wouldn't boot with all of my RAM enabled, so updating the BIOS was the first step I took after trying to start it.
I'm facing the same issue with my Gigabyte x570 Master. After updating to AGESA 1.0.0.4, it won't post and just freezes at 97. I have another PCIe card in the 1x slot, and I managed to re-flash the older version using q-flash by restoring the main BIOS.
I updated my BIOS to AGESA 1.0.0.4 F10a on my GB X570 Aorus Xtreme and everything worked fine. I flashed it using a thumb drive without any problems. It seems my system starts up a bit quicker now. For other tasks, I haven’t experimented much since the BIOS is new, and I didn’t want to make changes. The only thing I did similarly before was manually setting my CPU to 4.475Ghz all cores.
