Hey, a few days back I sold my 12900ks to upgrade to the new 13900k. My CPU arrived today and I just installed it, but I don’t see any image at all. I also want to note that I updated the BIOS on my motherboard, which now supports 13th gen Intel CPUs. My PC specs are: Z690 asus rog strix a d4 motherboard (ddr4 version), 16gb DDR4 4800MHz CL18, Rtx 3090 Ti Corsair HX1200i. Everything worked perfectly with the 12900ks. Unfortunately, after the upgrade I still don’t get any display or post. Now my question is: what could be wrong here exactly? I’m pretty sure this motherboard supports this CPU. Maybe I have a faulty CPU? Or perhaps something got damaged during installation? (Unlikely). I also cleared the CMOS, but there’s still no picture. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Make sure to refresh the BIOS and confirm the new CPU functions before disposing of the old one. It seems you might be able to update the BIOS even without the CPU installed, though I’m not certain because you’re not using ASUS components.

Yeah but I didn't have that option... I had to sell my 12900ks in order to have enough money to buy the 13900k and as I said I have updated the bios... did you even read what I wrote ? Lol

You didn’t mention checking the functionality beyond those steps. It’s unclear what additional actions might be needed.

Since you lack replacement components,...Visit a shop,....You probably could repair it yourself, but they should be able to replace the part quickly—usually within 5 to 15 minutes—since there’s nothing fundamentally broken.

Is there a visible POST code on your board? That information could really assist in identifying the issue with the POST functionality.

That's exactly what I was considering too.

Sadly, besides swapping everything out, the only option is to try it with another processor. If you don’t have one, look for someone who can test it professionally—like a shop technician—and consider buying a new one yourself if needed. Make sure to also re-install any moved components before reseating your CPU.

Unfortunately, there was no post code provided. Also, the bios update was completed with my 12900ks and it worked successfully. I’ll take the card to a store or order an i3 12100 for troubleshooting, or perhaps a different z690 MMO.
