I'm seeking a CPU with strong single-core performance. My game-server network is growing, and I need a dedicated machine rather than relying on online hosts to save money. Currently, hosting costs me up to $250 per year per server (plus bungee-cord proxy), which totals $500 annually. With two servers running, that's $1,000 a year—far beyond my budget. My online stores enforce anti-pay-to-win rules, so servers typically earn only $20–40 monthly. (Based in Asia, most people avoid spending on video games.) Given these constraints, I doubt this setup will last after the quarantine ends. I’d prefer a Ryzen CPU, but single-core speed is crucial for Minecraft servers, especially with multi-threading limitations in newer versions. (The i7-7700K supports up to 30 players per server without lag.) I’ve been checking listings for i7-4970K CPUs and they fit my price range. What I need: A solid single-core CPU with a passmark of 2200–3000, ideally 4–6 cores. Either Ryzen or Intel would work best. Low power consumption is important since electricity costs are high here. 10600K or 10600KF offers top single-core speed. Could be the best with overclocking.

We charge for servers since the upload speed supports 16 players online. A CPU isn't ideal for player connections when considering actual hardware specs—it's much slower than a desktop. This approach might not be beneficial unless customers get significantly higher upload speeds. Otherwise, investing in costly internet could end up costing more than the rental fees by a large margin. My two cents.

Best price for single-core speed, works with just 4 cores. Grab the discounted i5-9600K. It's less expensive than the 10600K and similar models, and you can upgrade it for the same single-threaded power.
