I searched for information but couldn’t locate a solution. Someone might know how to disable this resizing behavior in Windows 11 where dragging creates grey boxes that auto-adjust your windows. If you need help, let me know and I’ll guide you through it.

In the system, navigate to multi-tasking settings, find "snap windows," and disable it.

Navigate to Settings, then System > Multitasking. Enable Snap Windows and adjust the display options as needed. Alternatively, look up "Show snap layouts at the top of my screen" for further guidance.

Thanks for the update. I checked that choice again, but it doesn't seem to work. I recall I set it earlier when trying to disable it, but it didn't resolve the issue.

I'm not actually seeing that particular option. All the options are greyed out anyway though since I have it off. Here is a screenshot taken while holding the window as if I'm dragging it around with these options turned off.

Activate the device, disable every radio option, and then deactivate it to observe any changes.

I also had that same idea and attempted it. Still nothing.

Which Windows 11 release are you using? It looks like you might be on an updated or older build. The same choices appear as Naijin mentioned earlier. Note: You can verify this by navigating to Settings > System > About > Windows details.

The Win11 snap has smooth edges, coming from an external program or tool you installed. A user experienced the same problem recently, though they can't recall the specific app. It might have been a utility bundled with the graphics driver.

Wow, really! Thanks a lot! I thought I’d fixed it with the utility, but it stopped working now. Really appreciate all the support!
