I've faced this same issue before, just as Code E described. After trying various settings, I settled on turning on "snap windows" and turning off all other snap window features. Now my windows stop resizing automatically. I prefer the option to display "snapped windows when hovering..." so I kept that enabled within the snap windows settings.
