I own some Corsair DDR2 modules—one XMS and another Dominator. They match in speed, timing, and voltage. When paired separately, they function well, but together they fail. This isn’t a new issue; I’m running four sticks with two different kits, all at the same speed and timings, and they work together in my 5900X system.

It's definitely a risk, but I've noticed many people using random mixing methods successfully, so. : p

The versions differ: M2Z is tailored for Ryzen, while M2E is not. The specific version numbers for each kit are available upon request.

It's accurate. My Z77 device was recently taken out of service. My son used it for gaming, with 2x2GB of Perfect Storm BBSE 2133C9 and 2x4GB of Some Hynix 1600C9 storage. It operated smoothly for about two years without any issues at 1800 C9.

It seems like there might be some confusion about the setup. The original configuration isn’t quite dual-channel, or at least not properly matched. This could lead to problems. Also, I didn’t notice it right away—thank you for pointing that out! Wink

I completely overlooked the 2E versus 2Z barcode! Yes, it’s starting to click more clearly now. "RAM A fits slots 1+3 and RAM B fits slots 2+4" I believe that’s what I’m seeing now. Honestly, whatever they’re in now is the only configuration that lets my computer run properly, so that’s how things are staying. At least until I get the updated ones. Also, thank you all for the details in this thread—it really helped.
