Added 3080 TUF card to my setup but it won’t power up.
I've tried re-inserting the two 8 pin connectors and making sure everything is connected, but it will just not turn on. My PSU should be able to handle what I currently have installed, but maybe you guys know something I don't. Is this the power supply unit you're using? You might also consider upgrading your motherboard and other components to fully utilize the GPU's capabilities.
Sorry about that, but this PSU isn't up to the job for 3080. It can't manage voltage spikes like the newer models. You're good to stick with your current setup for 3080, though—just keep in mind your CPU might struggle a lot at 1080p.
I'm currently using 3440x1440, but I'll definitely consider upgrading. Ugh, that's not great. I think I'll search for something newer. Appreciate the advice!
PSU quality isn't the issue, even a 400W unit works with a 3080. The real concern comes from voltage spikes during gaming. Your TXM750W should function normally when you power on. Are there any messages from the motherboard during startup? Do the fans operate properly?
Are you certain? The PSU is from 2011. Should the BIOS be the issue? @Chosenporo Have you attempted to update the BIOS? https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Compon...Desk_bios/
Check the BIOS settings for update options. If the machine won’t power on, try resetting it or consulting the manual. For your 1080TI, ensure the power cable is secure and the device is properly connected before attempting a restart.
