It turns out I made a huge mistake by disconnecting the cable linking the power button to the motherboard. Your guidance was really helpful—thank you for pointing it out. If I hadn't been told to short the front pins, I might never have noticed the cable was missing. Have a great day!

This saved you more than $100 for a new PSU. It brings back memories of changing my cooler only to forget I had disconnected the fan header from the old unit.
