What was the price you paid for it? If you're not interested, consider selling it for less than half its value.

It would function too. Linus even created a video about it three years ago https://youtu.be/PF8Dfgl3Wx4

I recommend avoiding adapters. You only possess 8 GB of DDR4 memory, organized as two 4 GB sticks. You’d need to purchase two adapters, each costing around $7 on eBay, totaling about $15. Your SO-DIMMs are likely around 2133 MHz or 2400 MHz. If you opt for a Ryzen processor, using these would significantly reduce performance since Ryzen chips benefit from faster RAM speeds in the 3000/3200/3600 range. Even with higher-speed SO-DIMMs, the added noise from adapters and increased trace length would likely hinder high-frequency operation. Save the $15 and invest in a single 8 GB stick instead. Once you have more funds, consider a second stick for dual-channel memory mode to boost performance further.

I'm not sure the exact cost of the RAM, since it came from my recent laptop upgrade. In your area, RAM prices typically range from $27 to $30 each, but I'm charging about $15 for it.
