At B&H they list the 10700 processor, while the others are only available via preorder. The 10700 is currently in stock for immediate purchase.

It's not an extreme reaction. These prices were standard when they first came out. The 3700x at $329, 3800x at $399 felt reasonable then. The $400 for the 10700 and $425 for the 10700k are a bit higher than before, but they're still better than earlier models. I think these are just normal launch premiums. They should drop off over time. The $399 for the 10700k seems reasonable once things settle.

Essentially, by the end it’ll face a 4700X instead of 3700X, and there are whispers about a 20% jump in IPC for Zen3, so I’d skip holding my breath for the i7.

It wasn't a scam. Perhaps you should check the meanings of the words first before using them.

Additionally, all other items are shown only as preorder and aren't listed elsewhere, possibly due to an error on B and H's end.

They eliminated hyperthreading, a common trait of the i7, to develop an i9. The i7-9700/k was the sole mainstream desktop i7 without it. This was a misleading marketing tactic that tricked buyers into purchasing an i9. It's clear Intel knew this issue, as they added hyperthreading to all products by the 10th generation.

The *semantics* here revolve around misleading naming conventions that misled users. The review highlights how the **9th generation** was marketed as bubble gum plugs, deceiving customers with confusing product names. Steve’s perspective offers a clearer take than my own. Key points were emphasized through bold and underlining to stress their significance.
