This also highlights the challenge of showing better graphics now. We're stuck in the uncanny valley, making it tough to enhance visuals further. Rendering more complex scenes is becoming increasingly demanding on GPUs. Looking back, graphics in 1993 were basic, by 2004 they had improved noticeably, and by 2015 there was a clear leap. Yet the progress over the past eleven years before that was slow—transforming Doom 1 into Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 in just ten years would be remarkable. It will be even harder to impress us with graphics in the next decade.
