Acer Predator Helios 16 experienced issues when under heavy usage.
I attempted to reduce the clock speed by around 250-300 MHz and lowered the voltage to 875 mV. It functioned properly with ezbench for half an hour, but when I launched my favorite game, I could only play for about 20 minutes. The window froze, yet the audio continued playing. This is the same issue as before.
It seems your GPU might be faulty. There’s little more to explore. You could also run a full-day stress test on your CPU and iGPU to check for crashes.
Hey, I hope everything is going well now and you're out of the hospital! Do you have any news about this? It seems like we might be dealing with the same exact problem from the same company. My laptop is the Predator Helios Neo 16 i7-13700HX / 4060. When I run demanding games (graphics-intensive titles like Callisto Protocol, Enlisted, Hell Let Loose, Resident Evil 4R, Ghost Runner 1 & 2) and the GPU usage reaches 100% for a while, it crashes with a low-level fatal error: Unreal Engine exiting due to D3D device being lost (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG'). I've searched online for days but haven't found a solution. Have you had any luck fixing this? What's your laptop doing?
I just returned my notebook from a repair shop…after about six months… They tried everything, but nothing worked until a week ago. They discovered it was a preproduction model, so the BIOS was very old. They had to flash the BIOS directly and many components were in debug mode. Only the graphics card needed a BIOS update. Thanks everyone, I hope this helps anyone. Stay safe!
