This situation feels like a work environment since the hostel isn’t yours. You should follow the rules there to access the facilities. Unless you contact the admin and simply apologize while promising not to repeat the mistake, you might need internet access for your studies. Regarding pirated software, it’s disrespectful—this is online space. I also use pirated programs occasionally, but I also subscribe to paid services like my Internet Security.
