Hello, I purchased an I9 9980hk from AliExpress along with an ASUS Z370 gaming PC. The seller provided modified BIOS files, but when I tried to flash them, it didn’t work. I’m using an Intel i3 8350K and am new to Intel, while also being an AMD user for a long time. I’m an MSI user and need guidance since I’m not familiar with the process.
I should have explored the chip more thoroughly before purchasing it with that MOBO. It's a NUK device CPU, and they tend to be quite sensitive.
The issue involves a mobile chip model 9980hk. It seems to require a specific LGA variant unless you have an alternative source. Edit: Nevermind
These modifications are extremely unreliable. It's probably the CPU is damaged, similar to what happens with many of them
The computer powered off right away after installing the CPU because the board wasn’t recognizing the process. It looks like the modified BIOS isn’t being flashed properly due to security settings, even though all OEM updates are applied.
