The 9800X3D offers solid returns, but I’m unsure if the 20% gains are worth the risk. Many will point to future Ryzen 7000 models, like the 7 1009800x3dxtKs in 2050. My concern is whether a faulty 9800X3D could happen. Should I go for the immediate gains or hold off and look for more stable options?

For high-end GPUs like RTX 5090, 4090, 5080, 4080 Super or RX 7900XT and resolutions below 4K, go ahead. If you're using anything else, the difference won't matter. Unless you're on 1080p, in which case skip the new X3D and focus on getting a better monitor.

Does the 5700X3D fit what you're looking for right now? This processor remains a solid choice for gaming in 2025. Unless you're running extremely demanding titles, it won't usually limit your performance much.

I'll move my old CPU, MOBO, and RAM to my girlfriend's PC with a 2600x spec. I compete in CS2 and play HD2 and SM2.

This setup only makes sense with a 4080/5080/4090/5090 card, since those cards are likely available and you probably have the budget to upgrade without worrying too much about cost efficiency. With what you have now, there’s no real incentive to go ahead.

For pure gaming, you don’t need to own a 4090/5090. The 9600x is perfect for that. If you want something more advanced, go with the 9700x. These numbers are based on the 4090, so anything under 5080 won’t gain much from higher-end processors.

No problema. Mismo FPS. Ainda assim, apenas um aumento de 5% em comparación com o 9600x.

Upgrade the display? A 1440p resolution would improve clarity and your setup would be up to date.
