We're facing a performance gap. The 5800X3D struggles compared to my 6950XT at 1440p, and even the lowest settings aren't enough. At 1080p, a 9800X3D would be necessary for smooth playback of a 7900GRE in those scenarios. Also, the 7900GRE can handle high frame rates at 1440p in the games you're talking about.

I'm confused about the performance numbers you're seeing. 1080p at 4090 MHz doesn't match the claims—those stats change depending on what's being measured.

What financial range are you considering? Remember, the projected 10800X3D will likely exceed the 9800X3D because of the more sophisticated technology involved. Even the 9800X3D remains impressive and will continue to be so for a while.
