9700k or 3600
9700k or 3600
I'm setting up a gaming-focused system and discovered a 9700k at a similar price to a Ryzen 5 3600. While Intel isn't ideal these days, a 9700k offers better performance than the 3600. I'm considering going with the 9700k. Regarding overclocking, which motherboards support it? And will a 650-watt gold PSU handle the upgraded CPU and RTX 3070?
The 3600 offers a more affordable motherboard compared to the 9700K, and its cooling setup is also more budget-friendly. It delivers solid performance in games.
I discovered a motherboard at a lower price than what I planned for the 3600 with the 9700k. When you add the motherboard and CPU together, the 9700k becomes more affordable. I also already own an NHU-12s.
The motherboard is the main circuit board inside a computer, and its location is typically within the computer case.
You can find a Ryzen 5 3600 for under $200, with the board costing just over $100. A 9700K model is around $260, while the most affordable decent board exceeds $150, pushing the total above $100.
