8kbs heartbeat is a popular music track.
Are there others experiencing a consistent flow of 8kbs? It might occasionally pause or speed up, sometimes skipping a few beats before resuming. Generally it stays stable. I don’t know the exact reason but someone else mentioned this issue only in outbound traffic. The network settings have been cleared. Could you clarify what this data represents and its location on your system?
I'm checking the tool interface for this data flow. It's arriving on port 80. The Resource Manager displays network activity under its tabs.
I think you're referring to a resource monitor. I'm not sure how to interpret that. I found it in the task manager. Now I understand my PC will occasionally make random noises even when nothing is being done. I haven't noticed this before. In the task manager, under processes, the network shows 0 when the device appears. Probably because it's too light. The only program running in the foreground is Edge. Once it calmed down, I took a photo.
Clicking the image will improve its clarity. Please inform me if anything appears incorrect on the monitor. Thank you. I also noted that I’ve completed as many tasks as possible within Windows limits while maintaining operation. Edited July 2, 2023 by dverdier
It's entirely typical, just casual conversations happening online. This can involve many different processes trying to connect, multicast or broadcast data traveling across the network, and various programs exchanging messages. There are countless scenarios, yet usually nothing significant occurs.
…the fønŧ You meant Resource Monitor, not Manager. At the top, you’ll notice “Processes with network activity.” You can observe things like Edge (MSEDGE.EXE) handling both sending and receiving data, plus services running inside svchost.exe. It’s probably routine tasks such as checking online status or searching for updates. For instance, the Windows network icon indicates connectivity but not internet access. It likely works by periodically testing if it can reach a specific service or resolve a hostname.
The font causes discomfort for my eyes. I understand it might not be a big issue. Microsoft Update frequently changes things. Make sure your browser extensions are up to date. Running your antivirus and anti-malware tools is a good idea.
I'm struggling to close the edge. I tried it five times and the search bar kept returning. The sixth time it stayed out of task mode but still showed up in the resource panel. It's behaving oddly. I thought maybe something was wrong, but it seems normal now. I guess I'll just have to move on from it.
I noticed this setup earlier while browsing before writing this post. The first example showed connections to dns1.1, 1.2, 2.1... Since I considered it an internal configuration, I wanted to understand why those lines point beyond just external devices. I’m not sure how to interpret that diagram, so I thought asking would help.
