It’s the very first one highlighting the link in your signature. Once you revisit it, you’ll see it wasn’t you who originally shared the map. Sorry. I should’ve reached out to the person who posted it.

I noticed something unusual—my C drive appears to lag slightly behind the Wi-Fi activity. It hasn’t been scanned for viruses recently, so I think running a scan would be a good idea. I usually stick to safe downloads and don’t use torrents on this machine.

Use Wireshark or tcpdump to observe the activity. You're likely witnessing discovery traffic from other devices on your network or Windows actively scanning for connections. For instance, Bonjour, DLNA, printer discovery, ARP packets (particularly when offload is turned off), etc. Regardless of the cause, it's usually normal.

I've configured intelligent managed switches and noticed consistently around 2KB of broadcast traffic reaching each client. This averages about 5 seconds, likely due to bursts and variations in Windows performance.

I noticed this only recently, but it hasn’t stopped happening. I have a satellite Wi-Fi setup and a network switch. It doesn’t seem particularly smart—it’s just a regular switch. Could either of them be contributing? I haven’t had time to dig into the details the previous person mentioned. When I investigate further, I probably won’t be able to read it. I looked up the issue and others have reported similar problems with data loss. Mine arrived with concurrent drive activity, but I still can’t pinpoint the source.

It stems from uPNP, Bonjour, DLNA Discover, ARP, Windows File Sharing, IPv6 Router Advertisements, and various broadcasts designed to simplify tasks without manual setup.

I lost IPv6 because I used a third-party modem instead of Xfinity. Only an IPv4 connection remains. I'm still looking for the IPv6 link. Will check the software mentioned later. Need to restore power to my neighbors' electricity first. Thanks!

It might be due to your router requiring IPv6 Prefix Delegation and being misconfigured. Alternatively, the modem may not have been certified for IPv6 by Comcast, and they’ve disabled IPv6 support in its settings until resolved. Verify your router is configured for Prefix Delegation with DHCPv6 and request a /56 subnet.

Thanks, I’ll check that. It mentioned Comcast on the box or Xfinity instead. It was listed as an exception too. They faced some issues connecting it, which might be a trade-off they had to make.

The setups are ready-made. They only require the model and HFC MAC details. It might have been better to assign a different configuration for the incorrect device. Alternatively, a standard template could have been used instead of a customized one during activation. Suggest they attempt a new provisioning.
