I’ve been assembling my PC for more than a month now and finally finished it. Almost done. Everything functions properly once I connect the 8-pin CPU cable, but nothing powers up. Once I plug in the PSU, I hear a click from the motherboard, yet it still doesn’t turn on. After swapping the motherboard and PSU according to your suggestions, the issue persists. I followed the list you provided, but the problem remains. Could you assist me?

Typically this indicates an electrical connection issue where the PSU is safeguarding your system. Verify your motherboard standoffs are properly placed, use the appropriate 8-pin power cable (labeled CPU or EPS, and ensure it's a 4+4 pin connector), and confirm all power cords are securely connected.

I wanted to emphasize this since it's a fairly typical error.

I verified multiple times and confirmed the wire indicates CPU, not GPU or any other component.

Start with a minimal setup focusing on essential components: CPU, motherboard, RAM, CPU cooler, and power supply.

It depends on what you’re trying to achieve. If it means confirming the process, you’d likely need to verify steps and possibly replace parts like screws or a tower if necessary.

I managed to get it running, but the board keeps showing it lacks a CPU. The red indicator near the CPU text remains.

It activates outside the enclosure? That suggests a short circuit likely occurred. As I discussed before, double-check that all motherboard clips are properly seated in their correct spots—no extra ones should be there. If the CPU and RAM still show the CPU light after reseating, consider reaching out for additional advice.

Refresh your connection by removing and reinserting the plug, or confirm if a full reset was performed.
