You removed the CPU from the socket and RAM from the slots, then put them back in place. Since you mentioned a different motherboard, you likely completed that step. You also asked if you set everything up without using the case.

All connections are made outside the case, the CPU cable is in, and everything functions properly. However, the red indicator remains lit indicating no CPU is detected. Could there be an issue with the motherboard and CPU compatibility?

Your components work well together too. Consider resetting the CMOS by removing the battery or using a screwdriver to short the clear CMOS pins.

It seems your CMOS might be faulty. A replacement could be necessary.

Share an image of the motherboard to view all connectors at once. This way, it’s simpler to identify components without having to check each one individually.

I notice the cables aren’t labeled clearly, so I’ll mark each one for you.

I don’t see the front panel connectors, but this cable looks unusual for your setup. Your RAM isn’t in dual channel mode—it shouldn’t prevent the PC from booting. It should be placed in the second and fourth CPU slots. Where exactly is it on your motherboard? I can’t find the details in your manual, so you might have overlooked it. What do the markings on the 8-pin cable indicate? If you split the cable in half, are they 4+4 or 6+2? Spoiler: it’s likely 4+4.

I don’t believe there’s any writing here. I’ve checked every part of this wire, but it seems missing. However, it breaks into sections of four plus four. Updated: I think I located it on the clip. On the left side, the number 4 has an R written backward with a U attached to the straight edge, followed by 12 and then HYM. On the right side, it’s identical except the 12 is labeled as 16.

The correct cable is indeed 4+4. Just checking to make sure you have the right one. You mentioned a red LED on your CPU, and are it positioned near the 8-pin connector?

There is a light there but it only goes on when I click the Flash BIOS button on the side. The light I was referring to is just above the 18 pin. If you zoom in at the top left corner of the 18 pin cord, you'll see a white square with a darker square on top. Thats the light I'm talking about
